2012 Honoree Randall Stauffer
Interior Architecture Chair of Woodbury University School of Architecture, Los Angeles and Professor
Randy Stauffer is a designer, educator, and consultant specializing in interior spaces. He received his Bachelor of Architecture at Temple University and his Masters in Architecture at UC Berkeley and is currently Chair of the Undergraduate Interior Architecture program in Los Angeles at Woodbury University. He has taught at Woodbury University for over twenty years. Before entering into full-time education he worked for design firms that focused on corporate interiors for the financial and entertainment sectors. He has worked with such companies as Warner Bros. Feature Animation, DreamWorks Records, Credit Suisse, and Playboy Enterprises. In addition to continued consulting on design of commercial interior projects, he presents and researches on the importance of the interior space as a place of political agency and change and its impact on the social relevance to architectural design.

Leading organizations have adopted visual thinking as a tool to foster innovation. Tom Wujec teaches us how to do that through the creation of innovative practices from strategic planning to design and implementation. He is an advocate for making work visible within a company, of transforming ideas into images that enhance clarity and lead to successful new products and services. He has brought award-winning products to market, and has published several influential books, his most recent Imagine Design Create in 2011.
